Since this game is now re-relased on PC again to work on steam, I am wondering if they will allow an option for the PC version's soundtrack. For those who don't know, the PC version had the orginal soundtrack that was intented for the game but when they ported it over the N64, the due to the cartridge having lower memory they had to compress and change the soundtrack for the game. So essentially the game has two very different soundtracks. Now I grew up playing the N64 version probably like everyone else here so I do have nostalgia. But in my opinion, I think the PC soundtrack is better. Unfournetly the game is using the N64 version soundtrack.
And don't tell me this is the N64 port. It has level sections that were not in the N64 version. So may I ask is to why they are using the N64 soundtrack instead of PC soundtrack? Is it due to nostlgia?

Serisouly though I want an anwer to that. And I wouldn't mind having the N64 soundtrack in the game if you were allowed to switch it off and enable the PC soundtrack like in the menu or something.
Thats what I would really like. I don't want to be a jerk and say to remove N64 soundtrack. Can't we have an option for both?
Thats all I ask. Also for those who don't believe me here are few videos of the PC version's soundtrack.Though I love the N64 version's Lost Land, after I listened to the PC version's I instantly loved it better but thats just me. Is he botching the PC soundtrack or is he saying the version they are remastering had all the compressed N64 FX and music? He said before that the n64 game has a much better audio quality compared to the raw audio files found in the pc port. You also need to remember this is a remaster of the n64 game, not a remaster of the pc port.He didn't enjoy the PC remixes of the soundtrack too. Yes I know now there is way to insert the soundtrack. But he should have included them anyway.
And what do you mean better audio quallity. I listened to all the tracks side by side the only reason they sound different is because the N64 version's is compressed and also changed to fit on the N64 Cartridge. There is a mod to fix it. The reality is that while we can say its 'unprofessional' or not, we're really at his mercy.
This was his project and if he didn't exist, this wouldn't exist. At the flick of a wrist he could have left or stopped development a long time ago.I understand that you want the soundtrack but I don't see the point of disrespect and hostility.
Obviously this is business and they're here to make money but this remaster started as TurokEX, a sort of hobby project stemmed from passion.I don't think Kaiser developed this as a personal insult to you or anyone else so, maybe its time to tone it down? Not once have I swore or call him names.
In all of these remasters, like for Age of Empires, or for Duke 3D, or for Homeworld, or Battlezone, I think it's great if the devs include options like having both original soundtrack / sound-rendered to choose from (Turok, Age of Empires, Duke 3D), or the original textures (Battlezone, Homeworld), and such details as that. Often, these remasters do include these options, and I think it would be cool if the PC soundtrack was selectable in the options menu in Turok HD.It's not just a preference thing, it's also a historical preservation. Remember, a lot of these remasters are catering to nostalgia, and those original details are big parts of the nostalgia for some people. And they matter to history geeks, as well.
Reviews“Overall this game is a step forward in console gaming, it shows off the true power of the N64 in graphics and gameplay. It is extremely fun to play and the fascination of exploring is tremendous. Acclaim didn't make just a better sequel they made one of the best games of the year. For Turok and action fans you're in for a treat. Expansion pack isn't required to see awesome graphics but it raises resolution to give it a slick more detailed look, which is appreciated.”100 – GameGenie“It's bigger and better in every way, including one of the best multiplayer modes ever made in Frag Tag. The addition of extra mission elements makes it as deep as GoldenEye. First-person action gamers will not be able to live without it.”92 – Nintendo Power Magazine“So, what are you waiting for?
Run right out and buy this game! Remember to buy the Expansion Pak-it’s worth it just for this game, and hopefully there will be future N64 games that will take advantage of it.
